Maps

The magnificent seven.

After a busy winter beavering away, the wrecks are now mapped and online. Please feel free to have a wander through them all and add your sightings to our records.

The autumn of 2017 with see the Ghostfishing Uk team concentrate on the battleships so all observations from these three wrecks will be especially appreciated. With greater depth comes an increase level of logistics so to be able to triage recovery items prior to the diving operation really does help the whole removal operation. If you want to contact Rich or any of the rest of the team, please head over to their Facebook page:

From small acorns.. you will notice that the Coln has been adopted by our friends at BSAC. A small advance guard started to map the wreck using a variety of techniques including photogrametry and Mk1 eyeball. This will form the basis of a Scapa 100 project using many of the tools developed from the BigScapaCleanUp. The new initiative will still embrace the same concepts of stewardship and community involvement and hopefully lead to some exciting innovations.

Please dig around the site and use the maps for your own ends. Everything works on the back of your hard work so jump in, get involved and make the place your home. We look forward to hearing from you this season!
